Frequently Asked Questions
What is therapy like?
Therapy is a space to slow down and explore your inner world with curiosity and care. The usual social restraints are softened, creating room for unbounded honesty. Together, we create a space tailored to you—one where you can begin to reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been hidden, unknown, or overlooked. Therapy can become one of the most emotionally meaningful relationship one can have.
How long does therapy take?
As in all relationships, there isn’t a fixed timeline. Some people come for a shorter period focused on a specific concern, while others engage in longer-term work that allows for deeper exploration, continued insight, and ongoing health. We can check in regularly about your goals and how the process is unfolding.
What can I expect in the first session?
Naturally, we gather relevant history. But, we also aim to give you a clear sense of what a typical session feels like. There’s no pressure to share everything right away; we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We strive for you to understand how it feels relating to us. More importantly, we hope to offer a glimpse of a different way you might relate to yourself.
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
We offer both in-person and virtual sessions, allowing you to engage in therapy from the comfort of your own space. If you have questions about format or preferences, we can talk through what might feel most supportive for you.
Do you accept insurance?
We are considered out of network providers for PPO health insurance plans. We can provide a receipt you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies, so it can be helpful to check with your provider about your out of network benefits. Our services fall under out of network, outpatient mental (behavioral) health office visits. Generally, a percentage of the session fee is reimbursed by your insurance once your deductible has been met.
